Barry Fetzer and his wife Arlene Wolak Fetzer, a Havelock Native, are parents of three and grandparents of six. He’s a retired US Marine Corps LtCol and CH-46 helicopter and UC-12 transport pilot and former commanding officer and certified as a DoD program management professional. He holds a Master’s Degree in leadership and management, teaches leadership, management, and communication college courses, and is an eight-time winner of NC Press Association awards for writing.
Fetzer is the Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation Board Historian, serves as President of the Swansboro Friends of the Library, serves in several roles at the Swansboro United Methodist Church including as a trustee, and volunteers with other local charitable and service organizations.
The Visitors Information Center and exhibits inside the building are now open to the public by appointment.
